Anthropologie Holiday Workshop

Last week I attended a Holiday Display Workshop at our local Anthropologie store. It turned out to be a true Anthro-Wonderland experience (with some shopping after). It was simply amazing to be part of their creative team and help out at all of the three workstations:

  • starry silver garlands - those will be hung all over the store as part of the holiday decor
  • snow-dusted hooves prints - will be glued to floors to create trails throughout the store
  • cupcake station - for the upcoming coffee shop display

At the end each participant received one of these cute mittens as a thank you token:

Thrift Finds in Blue

Thrift shopping is a great way to find something unexpected, something you never imagined you'd discover. Just the other weekend I made a stop at the Blue Elephant RVA to say hello to my friend Jessica, and I found this beautiful Italian glass bottle. The color is so vibrant, it almost glows, in a cool sort of way. I added this piece to the small collection of turquoise-blue bunch I have been displaying on my fireplace.

The Portrait of a woman is a find I took a long time to search for. I was looking for a portrait, something of a certain art style and of course something I could afford. After I saw this painting (at TheEAShop) I fell in love with its style, composition, and the blue + red that the artist used so masterfully to create such powerful piece. It was my first real-deal artwork purchase. It is oil on canvas from around 1950s - 1960s. I adore the colors and how well they work together!
